Products & catalogueProduct types and content boxes

A product type is a template for one kind of product. “Grocery & food” might have Nutrition, Ingredients and Storage boxes; “Skincare” might have Benefits and How to use. Every product of that type then gets those boxes in its form, and its page shows them.

  1. 1

    Open Product types

In the menu, under Product Master, open Product types. A new store has none yet.

    Step 1: Open Product types
  2. 2

Start a type from a ready set

Press New type (or Make the first type). Under Start from, pick the set closest to your products — Skincare & wellness, Grocery & food, Electronics & appliances, Fashion & accessories or Services — or Start empty.

    Give it a Name.

Step 2: Start a type from a ready set
  3. 3

    Check its fields

The list shows the boxes this type will have, in page order. Each has a name and a kind — a paragraph, a list of points, steps, a table, pictures, questions and answers or a highlight.

Use Add a field to add your own, the arrows to reorder and the bin to remove one.

    Step 3: Check its fields
  4. 4

    Create the type

Press Create. A message says how many fields it has. Press Make default on the card if most of your products are this type.

    Step 4: Create the type
  5. 5

Fill the boxes on a product

Open a product: the Content section now has one box per field. Fill them and save. Products of the default type get the boxes automatically; for others, choose the Type under Organization.

Step 5: Fill the boxes on a product
  6. 6

Give the type its own page design (optional)

Design its page copies your product page into Studio as a page of its own, so — for example — food products can show a nutrition table near the top while skincare shows benefits first.

Step 6: Give the type its own page design (optional)
